Antique composition of flowers, Still Life with clear glass flower pot, oil on canvas painting dating back to the first decades of 1900s. The work is in fair condition, framed; it comes from a private Italian collection  of Milan and depicts a vertical structure floral arrangement, a bouquet of cut flowers within a clear glass vase, placed on the top of a  circular column.

This impressive bouquet of flowers is dominated by fluffy pink peonies in the foreground, with white lilacs by steep stems that protrude at the top as if to get out of the canvas, as well as by heavenly lilac, placed in the center and surrounded by striped carnations red, closed anemone buds, of multiple colors.

This floral triumph is an extremely romantic and  meaningful painting. In the language of flowers, lilacs fact symbolize falling in love, feeling stressed even further by peonies,  so-called roses without thorns, love’s synonymous and good luck flowers. Even the anemone, beautiful but ephemeral flower,  lying on the table top of this work,  evoking  ephemeral feelings of abandonment, underlined feeling by the fallen petals on the floor that remind us of the close relationship between beauty and transience.
