Antique Italian sofa from Sicily a Louis Philippe poplar sofa dating back to the last quarter of 19th century, with a dark lacquer serpentine back frame decorated with an elegant vegetal hand-carving with gilt roses centered by a shelled gilded profiles.
This elegant Italian sofa is raised on a scalloped skirt, as well as two short scrolled feet in the front and two straight in the back. The beautifully curved Silhouette and the great patina make this Italian 19th century canapé an excellent choice for any living room.

Good poplar wooden structure condition, with minor gilding wear and losses. This antique settee comes from a private house in Milan has still a comfortable seating but shows signs and wear consistent with age and use. It is upholstered with distressed red velvet, with a tear as showed in closed-up picture. Padding is in overall fair age related condition.
