This antique Italian hand-painted figural porcelain bowl is supported by seven Cherubs standing on an oval base with gilded profiles and with four lovely fruit shaped feet. Putti proliferate in popular culture, in decorative arts they are wingless male child figures, classical motif often depicted in mythologic Bacchus rites.
The blue mark of crowned N on the back of the porcelain group, from Capodimonte manufacture.
Capodimonte was originally an 18th century Italian porcelain company that made some of the finest figural pieces. Production has continued through the 20th century.
This example is an early 20th century work coming from a private residence of Milan in good age related condition, no chips, dents or losses, just with old restorations.
