Monumental Italian Wrought Iron Green and Gilded Lantern from the 18th century,  a stunning chandelier to decorate the interior of a hallway or porch. The lantern is 180 cm high, made of iron sheet, green painted  with gilded leaf elements at the corners and top; the only internal light, originally was a candle, is shielded by glass plates arranged in three tiers, two glass panes with minimal breaks. The special feature is the four iron uprights that create a  scrolling foliate motive until they are joined at the top by a gilded and turned element and its hook. Embossed and gilded iron sheet leaves decorate the four uprights. Lacquered elements in red. Working  European wiring.
